I hope not, at best I see those things as a response to peer pressure (I belong! is the message of all the twenty-somethings in the upscale burger joint, all with gadgets in their hands), but also as theatrical props, sort of as laptops in coffeebucks were ubiquitous in the aughts. At worst I see them as an intrusion of work-time into free time, and a way to market stuff to people, including ever more gadgets.

I’d suggest starting a new thread under the catch-all Railfanning if you want to discuss Digital Marketing 101 - What It Is and How It Works. I, and maybe a few others knowledgeable, would participate there rather than under a box car thread.

I absolutely agree. I'm in the calendar age group that falls into the boomer definition. (Born in 1956) I'm also a Scorpio.

Both "DEFINITIONS" do not have the slightest applicability to me.

It's always been a humorous joke that I only had to be five minutes ahead of anyone in my office as to understanding how a given software works. What key do I hit?????

Now that I'm retired, and my son has gone to college with a major in computer science, it's great to lovingly troll him and ask him how to replace a soldered power supply jack on this formerly high end gaming laptop.

Concerning the original subject of this thread about two preserved 40' steel boxcars, I went through the Duluth museums Facebook page, and did not see the news about BNSF number 951828/CB&Q #62541 being scrapped. But there were a heck of a lot of entries and I probably just missed it. I did find an entry dated 6/24/20 showing a number of photos of the two CB&Q boxcars after they had just arrived and were in the museums yard. At that time, the museum seemed rather happy to have received them. The photos also showed me that the two cars were actually painted gray. Rick Knutson's photo at the beginning of this thread made them appear yellow, probably due to the low sun angle at the time of his photograph.
