This appears to me to be someone who is looking to buy low and sell high to the other entity owning former EBT property, by being both a pest and bad publicity.

Chris, I’m not sure I understand your counterpoint. What I was trying to express is there definitely are able steam mechanics nearby. I speculated some might be willing to help if asked.

I have no clue what's in Salone's mind but I am sure that history will show that he has met much more than his match in the persons of Messrs, Moorman,Levin & Posner and I'm equally confident that sooner or later the EBTF will own the entire 31 miles of the EBT and the entire Mt. Union yard.

Just a matter of when, not if. IMHO-Ross Rowland

Imagine that the boy who cried wolf also caused the villagers to lose their livelihoods, lose their homes and also threatened to sue them for saying factual things.

That's probably why help was not asked for and/or why help was not provided.

Allow me to shed some light on this with some first hand knowledge.

The people running the place have turned the operation into a "Good ol' boys" club and have essentially run all of the old figures that kept the place standing the past 20 years out and brought all of their cronies in. The Chief Mechanical Officer, or whatever he feels like calling himself on a particular day, set multiple people up for failure by getting them to do, or at least trying to do, very questionable things, then firing them for doing those things or for refusing them to do so. The last incident I recall witnessing was him screaming at someone for greasing the sides of the rail around the wye after he told them to do it, accused them of sabotaging the train since it stalled out, then fired him.

They've threatened almost everyone they fired with legal actions if they talk anything that makes the EBT or it's "boys" look bad. The management there can see no wrong in what they do and take great offense to anyone that says otherwise.

It really is no wonder why an individual would not want to ask them for help.

Thanks for the clarification. No real surprise there.

I think you're confusing the group associated with this post with the group that is actually accomplishing something.

I was replying to the post from “interlocking tower” - which was about the same organization that scolded people for taking photos of 16.

I could well be wrong but newcomer Interlocking Tower sounds like a disgruntled fired ex.-employee??

On my 3 recent visits to the EBT as a paying customer I have been very impressed with the operation in every aspect. The physical progress on both the ROW and the equipment and buildings is amazing, and the steam excursions are being run on schedule with very professional friendly and knowledgeable crews.

Those local residents I have interfaced with are more than pleased that the EBT has come back to life and are 100% supporters.

Zero question in my mind that the rebirth of the EBT will be THE railroad preservation story of at least the decade, maybe more.

My recolections of the sale of the Mt. Union properties to the Salone interests is that it included only the real estate, not the rolling stock stored there, which remained Kovalchick property. That said, I haven't read any of the related documents, so please take this with the required gain of salt. I think this locomotive was sold at about the same time as the south end of the EBT was conveyed to the foundation that has brought it back to life.

Nick

Interlocking Tower is not a newcomer. I also don't think they are a liar, but apparently you do?
