Thanks R.L., that means something. I just hope it's helping rather than hindering since the process hasn't been completely refined as of yet. LOL

I don't remember attempting a dual chip match with one of my own pictures, but this would come right in on DuPont 1290 GMC Venetian Yellow if either #2100's cab display model wasn't just little bit dirty or the target colors were on the same plane...

While we won't necessarily be burning recycled vegetable oil, I think we will smell more like a deep-frier than any dismal out on the road, lol.

The past few days we have measured all the tubed lengths in preparation for cutting and starting tube installation. Tha k you for all the incredible support to date! Keep the donations coming in. We still need about $2,000.00 to pay for the final seal welding. The injector is getting some needed TLC and the superheaters are just sitting there ready to go back in the boiler!!!

Happy Sunday!

Hmmm. B&O P-7 4-6-2 5304 was streamlined for the Royal Blue by Otto Kuhler. When the EA/EB cab units arrived and took over the Royal Blue, they got this paint scheme at La Grange, modified to go on a diesel. Pretty much the same scheme was used on RDG's F, FA and FP cab units, albeit with different colors.

The CSX Executive F40's use the B&O scheme currently.

A friendly cautionary; be careful cutting all your tubes in advance. Tube sheets have a sneaky way of moving ever so slightly as tubes get rolled. I understand the superheater flues remain in place, of course this will help keep the sheets stable.

You can leave the flues (superheater) in while you remove the tubes. When we restored 1522 we bolted and clamped "strongbacks" to the flue sheets to keep them straight. Strong I beams.

Ok... let's wait until then though how about that? Pretty sure Durango is paying more for oil than they did for coal.

It is still cheaper than the lawsuit that comes after burning several hundred acres of national forest.

I noticed this report today...
https://www.railadvent.co.uk/2023/09/da ... HwLm3_cHhw
One of the UK War Department WW2 2-10-0 locos is being converted to "liquid fuel", and, interestingly, FMW Solutions in the US appear to be the Contractor "supplying the expertise".
