Good Morning! I'll be taking over the regular (hopefully) updates from our Mechanical Shops here at the Strasburg Rail Road. I know it's been some time since we've posted and we apologize for that, business has been busy and that's a good problem to have!

Here we go with updates:

Hi Tim
First I will be the first just to say Thank You,, the shop updates from the railroad are appreciated by me, and I hope by others.

As you said the shop has been busy so you must have quite a bit of outside work,, and also trying to find the time to work on Strasburg's own locomotives..

I always enjoyed reading Kelly's updates and now will look forward to yours.. and again Thank you.. Pat.

Do you have all of SR 722 or just the boiler and firebox?

How about you keep your wildly inaccurate speculations to yourself? Kelly Anderson very publicly retired some time ago.

I suspect they are referring to Kelly Anderson sanitizing much of their post history

Thank you all for the welcome back to the forums!

Kelly Anderson did retire a few years ago, although I don't remember exactly how long ago it was. To my knowledge he did not scrub the forums of his previous posts but I could be wrong as well.

You're wrong.

He took the trouble to completely scrub any and every post of his from this forum--and it appears a few of his cohorts also deleted their presence from any thread of a post he originated.

Yeah, I am referring to him scrubbing his posts from here, a few years after retirement.
I have seen his posts on other rail related forums, recently, so I know he's still engaged in community.

What is the status of 7312? Is any work still being performed at this time?

Thanks,
John

You are correct. That is really sad. It must have taken a lot of time and effort to search and find every post one has written and then overwrite it with ".". There was a lot of valuable information in those posts, and I imagine no backup.

It is really sad. Just vandalism.

I want to add that that this says something also related to another thread, about the value of printed media. A formal, printed media is nearly forever. Forums like this, as nice as they are and convenient, can be destroyed, deleted or vandalized in an instant. All the assembled knowledge here is only temporary.

Those who take the time to assemble their knowledge into books or formal documents, will have a much great impact on the future than those who limit themselves to social media posts.

With internetarchive being partly down due to multiple attacks, I agree.
