From a source on Facebook.

Looks like it might be the start of the end for equipment in San Angelo, Texas. Wide and diverse collection including cranes of different lineages, a business car of ACL heritage, an Illinois Central RPO, a FW&D/BN caboose, several old riveted tank cars, and if they aren’t gone already half a dozen NYC coach bodies grounded in the early 90’s.

I have been unable to find out the source of information or confirmation that it "looks like" scrapping may be imminent, nor ways to contact the owner.
Edit: scrapping was taking place, but some equipment, including the ACL car, have been saved, the rest will be available until February 2, 2025: https://www.facebook.com/groups/AOTTORC ... 6951672380

RING RING IT'S (almost) A CHRISTMAS MIRACLE!!

I managed to get in contact with the former owner of James H. Green Machine and Welding Shop in San Angelo, who, like the rest of us, was also caught by surprise when the cranes started getting cut up. The good news is that the other equipment is saved... for now. That equipment is as follows.

• CSX Business car "Georgia" (Sold)

• Illinois Central mail car No. 103

• ATSF crane and boom car No. 199798 (Formerly Clovis based)

Crane: Roller Bearings; Boom Car: Friction Bearings

• T&P Baggage car No. 385 (No wheelsets)

• Switcher (Unsure type; See Photo)

• Ribbed hopper (two-bay I believe)

• Old tank car: Riveted (Unsure capacity)

• Old DOW tank car: Welded (Cap. 8058 GAL)

This equipment HAS to be GONE by FEBRUARY 2nd. Otherwise it will meet the same fate. I will be helping them delegate the remaining equipment. I mentioned the idea of donating to a museum or two. The reply was potentially a yes. Donation will likely only happen if the receiving party covers the cost of moving/shipping. Otherwise, expect to purchase the equipment and cover the cost of moving/shipping.

Any interested party please send me a DM, I will Provide the owners with contact information on a first come first serve basis.

One of the steam cranes will be preserved by the property purchasers as a display piece for their business. Which one exactly it is, I am unsure, but It has been furnished with a flag pole.

I don't see a connection switch to the live rail outside the fence, but it may be possible for cranes to "walk" the cars over there and place them on rail, if whoever owns that track is willing.
