on more potential LV surviving locomotives.

just got an email from Rich Wisneski,
he has a copy of the book "Comprehensive Guide to Industrial Locomotives", and he says "it lists non-railroad locations having their own locomotives (steel mills, refineries, etc.) state by state, and the locomtives & history where known. "
published in 1998.
(he said there may be a newer version..)

in that book are SEVEN LV engines that arent yet on the survivors list!
here they are:

this info is 6 years old, from 1998, but odds are good many of those engines are still around! can anyone confirm any of these?

and..anyone have a more recent copy of this book?

There have been two switchers at Co-Steel Raritan that I have seen the past few years. The one currently active is greay with a green stripe. The other, which was in Conrail blue, I have not seen lately. Not sure if it is gone or just hidden.

The best views of the operation are from an NJ Transit train on the NJCL.

But, I am usually looking to the other side of the tracks where a lovely, and quite ancient, wooden boxcar sits with all her hardware but sans trucks. I have no idea of her provenance (like that? provenance. Guess who's been watching Antiques Roadshow?)

Jay Reed's "Comprehensive Guide to Industrial Locomotives" is an excellent reference and can be ordered directly from the publisher.

Check out the current issue of Railpace Newsmagazine for a photo of SW1 117(?) down in Kentucky and noted as "available for preservation"............?
