The Reading & Northern has announced 4 upcoming Iron Horse Rambles behind T-1 2102 starting with a " Steam in the Snow" trip on Feb.8th.

See www.rbmnrr-passenger.com for details.

Lord willing I'll be happily ensconsed at my open window in coach # 4 soaking up the sounds and smells of steam doing its magic dance.

Happy New Year to all. Ross Rowland

I see that they're going to let passengers ride the wye move on the February trip, which is also new. But the R&N is never one to get complacent and rest on it's laurels, always offering new experiences and destinations.

And only $79! I was paying more than that to ride mainline steam 30+ years ago! Not sure this will fit into my schedule this year, but any fan of steam should do a R&N excursion at least once. Big steam, heavy trains, steep grades, open windows, photo opportunities, respectable speeds. One of the best shows in the country at the moment.

I'm also glad to see that they are anticipating the 425's return to service this year. While 2102 is certainly impressive, that little blue Pacific is a lot of fun too, and that engine can go more places on the system, so they run that at Lehigh Gorge and for Christmas trains and some of the smaller community events (Schuylkill Haven Borough Days, Mountain Top Rotary Club, etc.)

I miss steam doing all the smaller events, knowing 2102 won't do the random Lehigh Gorge weekends, Mountain Top trip, etc - looking forward to #425's return!!

I hope they bring back steam for the Christmas trains in 2025.

No offerings for steam powered trips the last two years (the the exception of one weekend each year with CNJ 113, and this year 113 had mech. problems)

It would be nice to have 2102 lead some Christmas train

Got tickets for the June trip. Was pleasantly surprised to see that they don't charge any BS fees on top of the ticket cost, unlike basically everywhere else (not limited to train trips).
