Love the quote on the plaque.

Shop reports are my faves.

I am so pleased that the new owners of my beloved 614 have selected the Strasburg steam shop to do her 1472 day overhaul. I'm looking forward to enjoying the progress as they make her ready for another 15 years displaying the magic of mainline steam.

Happy New Year to all. Ross Rowland

SRC updates are always interesting.

It would be neat to see the York due a charter or two before she goes back. Vastly neater to think that the York, the newest standard gauge build in the country, may soon share shop space with one of the newest period engines- 614. Wouldn't have had that on my bingo card even a year ago!

I'm also amazed at the amount of space there is at the Strasburg shops to support all these projects!

Did the York tender come along to the shop?

Unfortunately no, it did not. I too (personally) thought that it could be an excellent idea for a photo charter given the equipment we have here. But that's also the marketing person in me...and sometimes we are slithery lizards!
