They n ote their 2025 anticipated schedule has been posted, and ask that speculation on 'when the engine will be done' be held to a minimum.

You must read into things quite a bit... thankfully I don't need to rely on your interpretation and now nobody else will either.

"Update: Steam Locomotive 1309
The final pieces are in place! The piston assembly has been test-fitted and is now awaiting shipment back to the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad (WMSR) from D&G Machine Products in Westbrook, Maine. Once the new piston rings arrive (currently being finalized as we speak), final assembly will begin at our Ridgeley, WV shop.

Before the piston assembly is installed in the freshly machined high-pressure cylinder bores, several checks and double-checks will take place to ensure everything meets our strict standards. WMSR extends its heartfelt gratitude to Brian Fanslau, Maine Locomotive & Machine Works, and Jason Lamontagne of the Wiscasset, Waterville and Farmington Railway Museum. Their dedication and collaboration, including the critical journey back to West Virginia to complete the boring work on the engineer's side of 1309, has been invaluable. It truly takes a team effort to keep these historic machines in motion.

Please note that we do not allow visitors at our shop facility, and we do not release information concerning steam locomotive testing. However, tickets for our 2025 schedule are now available at www.wmsr.com and we can't wait to see you aboard.
