Maybe someone out there can help with a picture or two.

In the 1980s or so one of the Disney Parks tried to replicate the open streetcar experience by building a small streetcar body and placing it on a speeder frame. It ran by the use of storage batteries through an electric motor to drive the speeder wheels. It didn't stay in service very long.

I believe that little models of this car with cartoon characters aboard were sold in Disney gift shops.

This was completely different from the horse-drawn Main Street Trolley or the later PE red cars which have now been taken out of service.
Any help will be very appreciated.

I believe you are thinking of the Jolly Trolley that operated in Toontown from 1993 until 2003. It was ocassionally on display afterwards but now the tracks are gone as well.

Thanks so much! I think that the time I saw it, the car was on display with some Disney mannequins on it.

If I recall correctly I think the television series A Series of Unfortunate Events also did something with rigging up a speeder as a trolley

One of the 'cutest' (???) adaptations on a speeder chassis goes to the Timber Heritage Association (Eureka - Samoa CA) that is a regular feature, and has effectively worked as a community tool to preserve the track along the bay.

Reportedly this is the one from the movie 'a series of unfortunate events'.....
