Just take a trip down to the Hocking Valley for some of flat Ohio ...then on your way North take 13-95-603 up to Plymouth ...North of there you can stand on your front bumper and watch drive-in movies in Toledo! Certainly was nice of mother nature to send the top of Ontario down here so we can farm easily!

With 10,000 unemployed comedians out there, it's reassuring to know that John Craft is out there to keep us smiling. Your corollaries and postulates rank up there with Murgatroid's Constant (re: buttered toast vs. gravity and carpets). Of course, anything goes when it comes to railroading. Even those of us out here in the Wasatch Range and the Rockies have come to respect your "hogs' backs", "hollers", etc. (We were recently in West Virginia for T.R.A.I.N.). Keep up the good work and keep smiling!

John - north of Punkin Center and east of I-25 is a part of Kansas that moved west. South of Punkin Center it is migratory Texas dust. A small enclave of California removed itself from the Bay Area during an earthquake and now is called Boulder. The remainder of Colorado is pretty much Colorado, apart from the citizens.

Well John, as one who was with you on the 587 chases in 1988, I recall the slogan a little differently. As I remember distictly, it was this. Your Quote "Railroads in Indiana are downhill in both directions" I remember it cause I enjoyed it and quoted it many times after that, giving your full credit of course!! :)

As I remember it, there was one small grade out of Logansport that day, where the 587's exhaust could be heard slightly at least!!

Steamingly,
Greg Scholl

PS Craft send me an email, I lost yours awhile back.

FWIW I have no affiliation with OC, but I did see Tim at TRAIN in Huntington last month. We didn't end up chatting, not for any particular reason, just didn't. He seemed strong and healthy and competent in passing.

I reckon if you are concerned about him you might want to contact him yourself and ask? I wouldn't assume there is anything sinister in others not answering you - perhaps they feel that whatever choice Tim has made is his, and nobody at OC wishes to put words in his mouth.

He will remain with Ohio Central, just in a different capacity.
