last year somwhere i saw on the internet that an outfit named RELCO had an ex DL&W HH660 they were attempting to sell.

Does anybody know if this was true and if so, what happened to the engine?

The website "The Yard Limit" has a seemingly complete roster of all existing Alco HH-series switchers. The link below gives the address of this list of surviving units. According to the list, Relco #603 (former DL&W #409) is (or was) for sale for $45,000. It was last seen in late 1999 at somewhere called Emesco Chemical. Best luck in trying to preserve this unit.
