I thought this loco was fixed already. I
remember riding in the engineer's seat as it was
towed to New Hope for repairs, in about 1975? I
thought it was a very smooth ride compared to the
NH&I locos, as it had a trailing truck (4-6-2)
and they didn't (4-6-0, 2-8-0, and 0-6-0).
Later, while it was up on blocking, "Railfan" mag
called it the "largest 0-0-0 of the season".
I saw a photo of it after the fix backing down
the line under its own power as it headed out
into the big world where Sam Freeman intended to
have it running for many years. What went wrong?
