Hello All,
A friend of mine is one of the engineers at Cass Scenic Railroad. As you might not know, some changes to the locomotives are at the engineer's expense. For instance, Shay #11 has a mechanically-linked lube pump for the three main cylinders as well as for the air compressor. This mechanical pump sits just forward of the engineer's knee, cramping his sitting position. This fellow has been looking for a Nathan 21, 4-chamber hydrostatic lubricator, but any that are on the market seem to sell for big bucks on e-Bay!

Does anyone know of any spares out there? Barring that, does China possibly make these parts? I can't remember if any of the Chinese steam locos that came into the US in the 80s or 90s are still in running condition.

"Chinese copies" of various lubricators may be obtained through Dave Conrad at the Valley Railroad in Essex, Connecticut. Contact him directly for pricing, availability, etc.

The 4 feed Nathans are a rare beast as they were used on three cylinder engines (such as Shays) and were not as common as their 3 feed brothers. Bullseye also produced a 4 feed which I like better than the Nathan as it can be completely disassembled for cleaning and repair.
