Since the B&O RR Museum will be opening up just before Thanksgiving 2004, do you think they will have the Fair of the Iron Horse two years after it should have been done, in July 2005?

If STEA is going to have 10 year shindigs in 2005 this may or may not be a good idea.

They are. From what I understand the 10th anniversary shindigs will start this year and go through all of 2005.

While I am thinking about it, I tried to sign up for the last Delaware Water Gap excursion train to be done on October 16, 2004 but they will not take reservations until May 1, 2004. So, that's a "411" for those of you who are interested in going to the second and final Delaware Water Gap Excursion train for this year.

I don't see why both places can trumpet their own horns in 2005. I think there are enough fans to go around.

Yes and no.........

On the one hand, the original response to the initial 2003 Fair of the Iron Horse was decidedly lackluster--no big steam whatsoever and a plethora of diesels.

Now, however, we happen to have a few more big steamers up and ready to run: not just 261, but 765, 1225, the Ohio Central fleet, 2816..........

Now, it'd be easier to justify travel across several states to go to TWO events rather than one........... eh?

Hello All

Just my "outsider's" two cents, but I think the B&O is going to have long road ahead of themselves in their recovery plan. Not the least of which is the construction of a restoration shop and collections assement plan. They have a pretty full plate already I would think.
