Looks like things are begining to happen for Steamtown's 10th annaversery. Looking at there website I came across this about events for '05. Although there not saying what, It seems that this isn't just speculation any more. Is this the return of Big Steam to the Northeast?

That's the idea. Smartly, they aren't putting out details until the events are finalized. Given what I have heard, I suggest you leave some time free next summer to go to PA.

Just as there are 765 reasons to be in Ohio this year, there will be an interesting number of reasons to be in Scranton next year if all goes well.

Shall we take a minute to rejoice in the physical plant of the Ohio Central and the Delaware-Lackawanna that we have some true mainlines upon which steam is welcome to romp?

Last I heard, 765 still has a long way to go and July isn't really that far off. I hope it is there, and I'm sure trainfest will be great no matter what, but if 765 is you reason for going to Ohio, I would certainly think twice.

Speaking of wheels, what is the status of CN 3254?

Not to stir the pot up too much, but hasn't 1361 been nearing completion for about 4 years, maybe they will get the push on to have her ready by then. It sure would be nice, I have seen that engine in about 3 different phases, the first time in a whole bunch of pieces, just after she came to steamtown - still in the cars, but haven't ever seen her together let alone running.
Im drooling already

I just checked the Steamtown web page for a current photo of the PRR K4, and came across this one, taken in the fall of 2003. There is still a LOT of work to be done on the locomotive, and I won't expect it to run in 2005. See the "Seldom scene" link below.
