Does anyone have drawings of the Keystone number plates used on P.R.R. passenger engines?

Larry, I would check with the PRRT&HS group and the state railroad museum at Strasburg. I have seen drawings of the keystones over the years but I cannot remember where I saw them. Please be careful in this area as there are PLENTY of reproduction keystones floating around. I have seen way too many in my 41 years of collecting plates.

Keystone number plate dimensions, taken off PRR 460's original plate, in the vault at the RRMPa, as follows:

Total overall height = 17"
Top width = 16.5"
Base width = 11.25"
Shoulder indentation = 3.5"
Height from shoulder to top = 3"
Side slope = 14.75"

I've made some beautiful copies in plywood from these dimensions. You'll have to figure the angles yourself, but that should present little headache.

I have the dimensions for a round G5 plate, taken from a LIRR loco. They seem small. Anyone at the Museum have the diameter of the freight plates?

Thanks for sharing the dimensions. Would these be the same for all steam keystone plates?

I do not know. I tend to think there were some variences in the size of Keystones. It's obvious that the T-1's had curved number plates. The size of the classic PRR numerals also varied.
