> Kurt, We have a bunch of records from a shortline outside of Pittsburgh. There were donated to the museum several years ago, I am not sure what all is there, and I can't think of the name off the top of my head. If you are interested in including these records in the Taber book, contact me off line and I will do a little homework over the weekend and get you as much info as I can "for the good of the order."

That's a shame such important records are in private hands. They should be placed in a public archives or museum where they can be accessed by all! If the individual suddenly dies and the records disappear they are gone forever. Let's hope the porter and davenport records end up in the right place some day.

Kurt,

Look at Railroad History #137 from the R&LHS. That should be the issue with a compilation of railroad related holdings found in the Union List. Quite a large list.

I cann't find my copy right now -- its not on the shelf with the rest of my issues of RH. But that is the one missing and the number sounds about right.

I used it a number of times when I was ARM Secretary to help direct people to resources. I remember that a univerity or college in Syracuse had many, many feet of records from one of the E-L predecessors.

 Post subject: LVRR Search
PostPosted: Sat Apr 03, 2004 1:07 pm

I am the historian of Franklin Township in Hunterdon County, NJ. A group of us here want to restore the old Lehigh Valley Railroad station in Pittstown, NJ. For the grant application, we need the LVRR architectural plans for the building. I have spent hours sorting through the PA and National archive sites and emailing everyone I can find to get a lead on where the plans might be. No luck yet.

Do you have any thoughts?

Would much appreciate your help.

Regards.
