New Jersey rail park question

In the link below: Was this the line into Fort Dix that saw the last PRR steam in 1959 (an 0-6-0 that was later scrapped)? What was the name? Union RR or something like that?

I love these newspaper accounts....a K4 under steam in 1969........hmmmmmm?

I believe this line was the PRR's Camden & Amboy, on which a K4s made the last steam-powered passenger movement on the PRR, a commuter run from Pemberton to Camden, in late November 1957. The Union Transportation line connected to the C&A at Fort Dix and went up to Hightstown. The last PRR B-6 steamed on that line on lease until sometime in 1959, I believe.

This line was the Pemberton & Heightstown Line of the Union Transportation Company which was later turned over to the PRR and then the Penn Central
until Conrail pulled the tracks up in 1983.

The line was the Union Transportation Co. and the engine was that ended PRR steam was 0-6-0 B-6sb # 5244. My father took me to Pavonia Yard in Camden,N.J. to see her as she completed the last trip and went off to the engine house to have her fire pulled. Even though I was only 7 years old at the time, I can see it like it was yesterday, as he told me this was something to be remembered. The date was 15 July 1959 .

The Pemberton Flyer did handle PRR's last steam passenger train in November, 1957. A K4s presided altho E6s and G5s were the usual power in steam days.

Subsequently the PF drew a motor car, then when there were no motor cars, a BLW DRS 4-4-1000 or BLH RS-12 with one or two P70's. To run two trips with one consist they ginned up a push-pull for a nonrevenue move with a brake valve, headlight and horn on a P70. The conductor could blow the horn or dump the air while the engineer pushed from the Baldwin. Last passenger train was around 1969 to an interim Camden station with a bus connection account PATCO construction.
