I'm trying to track down the Hennessy Mfg. Co. of Chambersburg, Pa. and pass the information along to this group. The founder made his fortune using the "latteral motion" (slight side to side play) of steam locomotive drivers to power mechanical lubricators. The decendents diversified into "Slidewell" boxcar door openers (a large hand wheel driving a gear down a rack) and journal box lubricator pads, optionally pre-lubricated!

We're trying to help a neighboring organization replace the concrete floor in a 1930's era NYC subway car.

The traditional material was full of asbestos and, of course, is no longer available.

Is there a modern substitute? Any active suppliers? Anyone have any recent experience to share?
