hello recently there was discussion about the 2 cyl. shay at the steam show at kinzer ,pa. i went to the spring steam up and the track gauge is 30" not 24" also the gears did come from a truck rear end, the loco type boiler came from a factory and has 3" tubes. when working hard a lot of coal fired ends up in the smoke box and must be cleaned out.all in all for a home made loco made on the cheap, it runs good and looks ok. if they can do it so can you. regards bb
