Correction - the photos are from last winter (2002), not this winter (2003).

Her condition will definately improve with her arrival at the museum.

However, I hope thay stick to cosmetic work for the present. The Mid Continent Museum has three or four torn down locos in their Shop at present. It is no wonder that visitors perceive railroad museums as junk yarks.

Ditto. Even a cosmetic restoration will be difficult, but most definitely doable!

Update- C&NW #175 WILL be moving some time in the future. While CR #29 was being prepared for her move, Clint Jones had the crew from Mid West Locomotive and Machine Works prep #175 to move also. Photo below is of work being done on #175. Thanks to RyPN reader Handsome Devil/John for the photo.

I have some photos from Handsome Devil/ John that were taken when the crew was up there of these locos also. I'll get them scanned and posted here soon...
They're in pretty sorry shape.

All I've heard are *rumors* that Mid West Locomotive and Machine Works *might* get the job of rebuilding her. Nothing official.
