Holler at me offline if you can help with matching money toward Spencer's T-21 grant to rebuild Southern 6133. We're REAL close to finishing the match. A $20/week commitment for a year by 6 people will do it. Green and gold or run in your blood? Bulldog nose got you by the tail? Come on over! Jim

Inspire us, Jim. What's involved, just a repaint or real work? Cosmetic, operational? Are we paying for paint, parts, labor? We might be able to get an NRHS Chapter or three to make worthwhile in-kind donations...........

Sandy,

At this point, the project needs good old fashioned cold cash to move forward. We've raised $20k already but the last $6k seems to be hard to find.

The work includes reworking power packs, injectors, valve bridges, rocker arm assemblies, air compressor overhaul, renewal of the test valves, rebuild of the water pumps, new connecting rod bearings and upper and lower main bearings and a fresh paint job.

Over the last few years, we have rebuilt our GP9 and GP30 and this will be the final project to make sure the regular diesel fleet at NCTM is roadworthy for another 20 years.

Hope some of you can help. I have set up my donation to the project as a monthly charge to my VISA card so it is quick, easy and painless and generates frequent flier miles, useful for attending this fall's TRAIN meeting in Kansas City. Jim
