It appears there may be some hope of saving the remaining portion of the Aspen Branch in Colorado. The present operators of the Georgetown Loop and Royal Gorge Scenic are considering operations on it once they complete their final season at the Loop.

True, but press coverage has them converting the line to narrow-gauge. Greska & Ashby are interested in the idea.

A&K Railroad Materials has already been told to get lost by the STB in this matter. They got away with about 8 false acquisitions in the past, but a reading of the dozen or so docket entries reveal a facinating story that the STB has about had enough of A&K. Go to the www.stb.dot.gov website, enter AB-547X in the search engine, and read the twisted story as to how they tried to steal the line.

They made another offer on Monday 8/23 good for 30 days. The board or who ever is auppose to consider it the second week of Sept. I believe. their bid was upped by $18,000 & change. That was in the paper Tuesday I am assuming it is accurate . I know never assume.........Wooly
