As of a year ago the locomotive was awaiting scraping somewhere on the CSX system. This information was via a CSX mechanical department employee that was tryng to get the locomotive saved. So far as I know his efforts were uinsucessful.
What made this loco unique is that it is/was the only diesel ever to be painted for the GM.

Hello, Jason. Hope all is well in MI.

Of course, the Gainesville Midland paint job was a knock-off of the Seaboard Air Line diesel scheme. Wasn't this also the only non-dynamic brake SD-40 in the SBD/CSXT roster?

My understanding was that the unit was to be used as a parts source, but have not heard anything in the last 8 months or so.
