Was doing some research for 30" gauge steam locomotives in the local region, and stumbled across the Dugas & Le Blanc Ltd. #3 on http://www.steamlocomotive.info/vlocomo ... splay=1410 .

However, after a search for this particular engine, as well as the Stearns Auto Museum, where the website says it's located, I find nothing.

Does anyone know if this engine or musem exists, or how I can contact the museum or owner of this engine?

Hey Dave,

Irwin PA happens to be my hometown. Went looking for this engine over the summer, and I'm starting to think it's gone. The building that I think was once the Auto Museum is now a flooring showroom. Until maybe about two years ago the entrance was overgrown with vegitation, but it did have a sign outside that said simply "Museum." A few years ago myself and a friend *cough may have tried to get in *cough but to no avail. Either way, place has been completely remodeled now and definately does not have a locomotive inside.

So either I'm in the wrong building, it doesn't exist, or it has managed to evade the ever-viligilant Tim Botti & friends steam locomotive search. :-)

Maybe someone with a few years on my 20 can give a you a better idea of what the deal is...

If you happen to find out where it went, let me know so I can change the website.

I think that this engine is owned by Sam King in Lampasas, TX. i do know that he has two Westfield Plantation (successor to Dagas and LaBlanc), one 0-6-2 and one 0-4-4. At the time Westfield quit steam they had four engines, all preserved, two Porter 0-6-2s and one Porter 0-4-4 as well as the Davenport 0-4-4 that is know 24' and running in Maine.

Sure enough, the construction information on steamlocomotive.info matches Sammy King's 0-4-4T "Rosa".

Okay...relocated the little critter to Lampasas and updated the ownership information. Do you have any idea which other locomotive Mr. King owns?

The other one is #1, "Bertha". An 0-6-2T; H.K. Porter 1791/1897. Both by the way are 2ft 6in gauge.

Is this the same Sammy King that has written about Mexican Railways here on RYPN? I believe Sammy (or a previous owner in Lampassas) had them both for sale; were they ever sold, or are they still for sale?

Just to set the record straight, the former Louisiana sugar engine now running at the Wiscasset Waterville & Farmington Railway Museum in Maine is a Vulcan, not a Davenport. It was regauged from 30-inch to 24-inch gauge at the B&M shops for Edaville.

I thought I had heard that the Forney has been sold to the located Forney Museum in Denver.

I don't live in Colorado anymore. Can anyone confirm?

there was another 0-6-2 that was some where in Ohio that was also a Westfield engine, but was converted to a Prairie.

Irwin was also the office address for Carl Auel/Keystone Light Railway. He did deal with Forneys; but they were former 0-4-0Ts that he rebuilt into 2-4-4s (Marriott's Great America, Opryland).
