I read on a list of EMD F units that two F units have been sold to the Southern Appalachia Railroad Museum or the city of Oak Ridge.Anyone know anything about this and what they me be painted as? The list is from the F unit yahoo group but it is hard for me to read on my computer.

I believe there are a couple of F units there, but I do not have complete details handy. However, if I remember correctly, they were not purchased by SARM - they would be financially unable to carry off such a purchase. If I am correct, I believe these are owned by Ed Bowers, who is leasing them/allowing the museum to use them in exchanbge for repair/restoration work.
I will check my info and post what I have after I find it.
Given what I saw of their condition last fall, and the mechanical and financial capacity of SARM, do not look to see them operate in excursion service anytime soon.
