From TrainOrders.com:

The final wig wag in the state of Michigan was knocked over on Feb. 14th and was damaged beyond repair, from what I have heard. It was located on Parmenter Road in Vernon, Mi. [northwest of town, northwest of Durand, former GT turf].

It is probably in the back of TJs truck now. Reckon he knocked it down?

Seriously, it would make a good low cost railroad display piece for his museum. Hope he can track it down.

Actually, one's been stuffed and mounted in Hillsdale, Michigan -- so it isn't completely accurate to say this was the last one.

Last operating maybe... <lol>

I'll do my best to track it down --- I know where it was, and I'll do my best to see if we can get what's left. My guess is that someone in Durand or SRi got to it first, but I'll check.

Actually, I know of tow others still standing, albeit moved -- the one next to #5632 in the Railroader's Park in Durand, and one under private ownership near Smith's Creek, Michigan which once stood along the Cass City Subdivision in Leonard.

...plus there's the wig-wag adjacent to PM #1223 in Grand Haven. I don't believe that they run it hourly during daylight hours any more like they used to, but I know they had it running for the Tri-Cities Historical Society's open house and ice cream social last summer.
