I am looking for information as to where I might find any Hodge's Hand Cars for sale. These were cars manufactured during the fifties upon which a child could sit and work a hand crank to propel the car around a track. Children love this ride that allows the small rider to crank around a track. The Hand Cars were purchased from Hodge's Handcars in 1955 and additional cars purchased later from Lakewood Park in Barnesville, PA. Knoebels [Amusement Resort of Elysburg, Pa.] (and a partner) had purchased Hodges Handcars later and renamed it the KAR company.
KAR has been bought and sold a number of times throughout its lifespan."

If you join the Park Trains discussion list on Yahoo Groups, these crank-type cars come up frequently.

Not sure I'd say they frequently come up; I have been watching for a set for the past 8 years and finally got the set that was installed at Nashville Fair Fun Park. I don't know how many were made, but there aren't that many floating around now. My set was in pretty sad shape, all had the metal parts present, but most of the wood was rotting and decayed. Fortunately, they were relatively simply engineered, so rebuilding them hasn't proven too difficult for a novice restorer with amateur woodworking experience.
