Found this picture and thought it was neat to see 4 mainline engines in steam. All engines are GWR, from left to right:
#4936-Kinlet Hall, #6024 King Edward I,#7822-Foxcote Manor,#5051-Earl Bathurst.

Made even more remarkable by the fact that one of the locos in the photo, 6024 King Edward I, escaped from the Woodhams scrapyard in Barry, South Wales after her rear driving wheels had been torched with a sizeable chunk taken out--a fate that would have condemned most other such projects.

Alexander,

Wrong "King", the one with the cut wheels was 6023 which is nearing completion at Didcot.

Feh.

You chaps have had too many Kings anyway.

(Read that as either "rulers" or "GWR 4-6-0's on steroids"--either way......)

Sandy, I heard some interesting reports from the North Minehead Bye Elections showing the National Bocialist Party has made some inroads so perhaps fewer rulers in the future? Don't know where this Bitler chap stands on steam.....

What a great shot! Thanks for sharing. Only perhaps equalled by a line up of A4s- which was done about 10 years ago(?) with Mallard, Sir Nigel, and Silver Fox (nee Bittern). Perhaps to happen again in the next 10 with Bittern, Union of South Africa, Sir Nigel, and Mallard? That would be amazing!

Ok, I'll clam up now, off to work.
