The Museum appears to be fighting its way back to life after a period of problems.

I was just reading an April 2004 newsletter which told of replacing PCB equipment which is no longer allowed for environmental reasons.

But that was a year ago. Anything more recent out there? Did the museum succeed in selling their norfolk and Western steam engine?

Will they have electric operation this summer?

At the moment I live about 35 miles (am about to go back home to the Bay Area, California) from ORRM, and most of the time I have gone to the Columbus and gone by the museum it either looks dead or closed, even during what would assume to be business hours.

That's sad, because here in Ohio we have very little in the way of museums. The Carillon in Dayton, while not a railroad museum I would rate at some of the best static restoration I have seen in the area (save for the Ohio Central, but is not a museum).

From what I've read in their newsletters posted online (The most recent from March of this year), the museum has been closed to the public while they clean up the property and do trackwork. It appears as if they have their track back in service, and ran the Illinois Terminal PCC car for their "Ghost Trolley" run.

Also, according to their newsletter, Ohio Central came and looked at the 4-6-2.

It appears as if they are slowly coming back to life. At least it looks like the've done some planning, set reasonable goals, and have started to make progress. It will take time to see if they can follow through.

Has anybody seen the Kansas City single truck street car recently? I'm interested as to its condition.
