Saw an interesting thread referral on railroad.net about the B&M American Flyer-type coaches rotting on Long Island. Oh, boy, would Steamtown have a real treat to get a few of those to run behind #3713.

I know I am dreaming.

Perhaps there's one that could come back up here-ah to New England.

They just scrapped what was left of a B&M combine. I cannot believe they did it. Torched the trucks and all. What a shame. I got the info from an eyewitness.

Hi,

re the B & M "American Flyer" passenger cars, I saw at least one of them on the roster of the Railroad Museum of New england recently. So they are not all gone. And of course there is the set of Baggage and two Coaches in 1 to 64 scale on my model train shelf.

Having observed at least a few examples of the extant "American Flyer" coaches, I doubt any one of them could pass muster for interchange these days-let alone ever operate in train service. The best we could hope for is (someday) one or two cars restored as display pieces.
