The Museum of Transportation in St. Louis will be holding three sales of books and magazines that are excess to our needs. These will be on Thursday, June 20, Monday, July 9, and Thursday, July 12, 10 am - 4 pm each day. They are scheduled during the NRHS and NMRA conventions in St. Louis but anyone can pay the normal museum admission and take advantage of this opportunity. Prices will be very reasonable, similar to those used by the NMRA's Kalmbach Memorial Library. Some books date back to the late 19th Century. Magazine titles include Trains from the late 40s, Passenger Train Journal, Mass Transportation (40s-50s), Mainline Modeler, NMRA Bulletin, NRHS Bulletin (60s), Pacific Rail News, Southern Ry Ties (50s), Extra 2200 South, Illinois Central Magazine (late 40s), Electric Railroaders' Ass'n Headlights, Rail Classics, Locomotive & Railway Preservation, Railroad (late 40s), Railfan, Railroad Model Craftsman, Model Railroader (late 40s), Rock Island News Digest, Railway Signal and Communications, Locomotive Engineers Journal, Railroad History (R&LHS Bulletin). There are Official Guides (reprints included), a few cyclopedias, and many others. All proceeds benefit the museum. No museum artifacts will be included in the sale. See the link to our web site for directions.

And for those visiting IRM, we also have (frequent) sales of excess books. Check with the used book store behind our regular book store car, or the manager of the Strayhorn Library, for current available materials.
