IÂ’m a sometime-volunteer for our Trails and Rails Museum operated by the Buffalo County Historical Society in Kearney Nebraska, about 200 miles west of Omaha. We have on static display UPRR #481 2-8-0 locomotive, a flatcar, and a UP class CA-6 caboose. The museum director would like to see the caboose restored as it would have been during its working days, but weÂ’re badly in need of expertise and examples to guide us. Would anyone know of anyone in our area whom we might consult, or any examples of restored cabeese in our area we might examine, or any other source of information we might pursue? WeÂ’ve tried to contact the UP Historical Society in Omaha, but theyÂ’ve been unresponsive.

Many thanks for any help anyone can offer!

You may want to join and post the question to the UP list at yahoogroups.com. The name of the list is union_pacific.

Please contact Paul Dalleska at Stuhr Museum. He has a couple examples and can certainly provide expertise as well.
