The Quad Cities Railroad Education Association is looking for a Davenport Locomotive and a car built by the Bettendorf Car Company Car. We are a 2 year old organization located in the Quad Cities in Iowa/Ill. area. Our first store front museum will open in August 2001 and we are looking for these units to build our first display.
If someone could point us in a direction we would appreciate it. We have just began our search and are looking in our area and out of our area.
Thanks
Tom Fleming

The City of Fort Morgan, Colorado owns three Davenport saddletankers; they might be amenable to disposing of one. These are ex-Great Western Sugar Co. Another GW engine is privately owned in the Kansas City area and I don't think there are any plans for it. Contact the Midland Railway at Baldwin, Kansas about that one. The City of Sterling, Colorado had previously discussed de-accession of their GW saddletanker, though that may have changed. There are many more extant as well; some are probably available. Let me know if you want more info..

Tom called the Museum of Transportation about this and indicated that they would be interested in any kind of Davenport loco, steam, gas or diesel. If anyone has info on where a likely loco might be available please pass the info on to him.
