I talked to a couple who knew the "gentleman in question", they said he was arrogant. One story they told was an incident with an 80hp Case (not the engine at Medina), in which they were carrying the water too high in the boiler, and it was priming so badly that they nearly launched a cylinder head. They argued with the directors over it, and were asked not to come back.

In the couple's opinion the father and the son suffered from having more money than sense.
