Dear Readers--some announcements from the management.1. Ed has chosen to resign as moderator. Randy and I will continue as moderators2. After the way he was treated by the readers of this board today I do not blame Ed a bit. With thanks like Ed got from the readers today, its a wonder anyone does this job.3. I thank Ed most sincerely for his service. At a time when I was nearly burned out watching this forum around my other responsibilites he and Randy have kept things running very smoothly and given me a much-needed rest.4. Randy and I are considering the feedback on the matter at hand. For now I will declare this topic re-opened under close scrutiny. Be factual, be nice, and use no invective or insult. Seriously--I have no patience with barracks lawyering right now and I will slam it shut at the first sign of abuse.5. I am personally disgusted and dismayed that this has cost me a valued colleague and heaped work back on my shoulders that I did not need. Instead of giving us a chance to work this out slowly as I requested, many of you piled on, and the result is you have cost RyPN the services of a good man. With time, we might have been able to sort this out to everyone's satisfaction. Instead, we drummed up a posse cum firing squad and shot the moderator for one perceived mistake. Thank God you folks don't train dogs--we'd have a lot of shot dogs. I have worked for years on this board without pay and with little thanks, and now I wonder if you'll take me out and shoot me the first time I make a perceived mistake. I mean, for heaven's sake people.Personally, I am profoundly disappointed with this board tonight.Good evening.

OK, the bulk of the original topic has been restored so people can read it. I have deleted the end of the topic where things got acrimonious. I have locked the topic becuase I would rather we start with a new thread and a clean slate if we are going to discuss this issue.Without commenting on the differences of opinion that led to the debate over the appropriateness of the original thread, let me make a few general remarks, not directed at anyone or any particular post:1. We welcome facts2. We welcome personal observations and testimonies--e.g., In my direct experience with K I saw X and Y and concluded Z2. We discourage editorializing: "So and so are crooks."So, lets stick to facts and close personal observations. Tempers have been hot, people are quick to take offense for whatever reason, so lets cool it off, relax, park the rhetoric at the door for a few days, and get back to good conversations.
