I came across this forum searching for pictures and info on these locomotives on google and found a post on the old forum about them arriving in California, I was wondering if whoever posted it could repost that again?

The posts were probably on the NGDF. Both arrived in August via the Port of Oakland and are now at a private restoration facility in the Placerville, CA area. The shop's owner is also responsible for Hawaii Ry. #5, now in Kent, CT. There's people on this board that know more than I do, so I will leave it at that. They are to be used in a new business venture at Kilohana Plantation in Kauai. I don't have the numbers handy, but I believe they were 0-6-2Ts with the rear truck removed with an added tender. Most of the Phillipine locomotives I've seen depicted were wood-burning.

There are pictures and an article in the 9/2000 edtition of Fine Scale Railroader magazine about Hawaii #5 inlcuding a pic when she came back to CA.Here's the link. On the subject...some more information can be found below.For a time, the 5 and ex-Kahului #12 were stored on a lot in Alviso/Agnews (Near the wetlands at the beginning of SF Bay). The 5 ran in South Tahoe under its owner, Bob Keller, who later moved it to Chama when his "Scenic Railways Ltd" became the operator of the Cumbres & Toltec. If I recall corectly, a few months ago there were pictures of the locomotives and the story of acquiring them in the print magazine Narrow Gauge and Short Line Gazette.
