I don't think this has been posted here, yet. Their seems to be a "Friends of the 470" group formed up in Waterville, ME to attend to the needs of the often-discussed and much neglected Maine Central pacific.I wish them well.http://www.waterville-me.gov/470.htm

I just wrote the group via their website, explaining the basics of journal polishing and greasing before movement and a few other items. Whether or not they reply may give an indication of whether they are really serious about restoration or just a community betterment group that thinks it can make the engine pretty in a few weekends.

Bids rangefrom $200,000 to $500,000. We want to do it right so we are taking ourtime to investigate and if the city will agree with our proposals westart rolling. We have broken it down into phases and hope that if weget city & public support grants will come our way.If you want more info. let me knowJen HickeyCommunity Awareness Coordinator
