Any NKP fans have an answer for this one?The characters in the numberboard boxes appear to be a plain block letter font - until one looks more closely and then the "9" seems out of character with differing horizontal and vertical line widths and that hint of a little curly blob on the tail. I would not put it past any railroad to customize their font but this one seems odd to me.Bob Kutella

Bob, check out these NKP photos from George Elwood's Fallen Flags site. The font looks very VERY similar. Note that photo #3 was taken by Doyle himself. http://gelwood.railfan.net/nkp/nkp189n.jpghttp://gelwood.railfan.net/nkp/nkp184o.jpghttp://gelwood.railfan.net/nkp/nkp187.jpg

Wow! Shiny enough to see the reflection of SP&S 4-8-4 700 sitting next to it!

I'm sure that this beauty will be on display for the NRHS convention in a few weeks. Doyle does great work.

I'm a big 4449 fan and was looking at their recently revamped site, and came across this-http://www.sp4449.com/trips/05sherwood/event/shrwd368.jpgAt first I thought this was a stencil, but could it be the NKP logo was an etched piece and not painted on the nose?JKB

The "sign" is actually the reproduction that Doyle, Phil, and Joey have fabricated for an original NKP drumhead sign box that was without its "grillwork". Doyle is building two, one for the owner of the original box and one for himself to mount on a reproduction box. This picture was taken right after he saw the finished parts assembled by Joey.As Doyle said "now I just need the car for it to go on!"Smokebox
