WP 481-486 arrived in the summer of 1980 and proudly carried the WP name until retirement only a few years after the merger. WP 484 has been a prominent part of the PRM collection for many years. In recent times, she has become our designated road caboose, maintained as a true, operating car that brings up the markers each time we go "out the gate". During our trips to Truckee, Dunsmuir, Rio Vista, Reno and the Bay Area, she was been a prominent and much photographed part of our trains and has served as an attention-grabbing ambassador for the Feather River Rail Society.Now, as she hits her Silver Anniversary, we want to do something special for her. After 25 years of service and sun, her classic red paint job is showing serious wear. As our operating road caboose, we take a great deal of pride in the 484 and want her appearance to reflect that. So we are launching a mini-fundraiser to reach the $4000 needed to restore the exterior of the 484 to her as built glory.
