Can't say for sure, but according to the 1975 American Short Line Railway Guide by Ed Lewis, the Preston RR was abandoned on Oct. 31, 1960.The locos were sold to Earl Leap in 1961, according to SLDNA Conrad.I've seen photos taken around the abandonment by Baltimore-area photographers that show the cold 18 and 19 in much the same spots as your linked photos, with no signs of a replacement diesel or gas lokie.Draw your own conclusions.
