In a thread below, someone mentioned a steam engine at the Belton Grandview & Kansas City Railroad. I was wondering if anyone knows the history, and current situation, of this outfit. I think that this is the organization from which the Illinos Railway Museum bought two of the more impressive internal combustion engines in our collection: UP turbine #18 (pictured below) and UP "Centennial" #6930. I know that the Belton organization has had some nice equipment, including the only surviving Rock Island E6A, but I don't know much about this outfit or its current operations. Can anyone offer some insight?

www.google.com is my favorite website (next to RYPN, of course!) since it is the easiest way to find things.

Simply typing in Belton Grandview & Kansas
City Railroad gets you this URL:

http://www.orgsites.com/mo/beltonrailroad/

and all the info on what they have on display.

Take care,

Rob

Good group to stay away from. Lawsuits between members, against estates of dead members, etc. Selling of equipment without approval of the membership. General disregard for bylaws, federal and state tax laws, etc.
