How were they able to transport that car with the friction bearings?

Very carefully. Was told it was getting a little warm on the trip from Chalfont so NHIRR was going to send someone up to take a look at it before it made the journey to its new home. It might have helped that it was raining the night they moved it. Would not be good to have a incident on the SEPTA Main. Must be a little more difficult considering they have to do it at night, unless of course the bearing really heats up enough to see it.

The cars will be moved to Ivyland tonight.

Were the plain bearing cars repacked before the move, or simply "freshened-up" with some car oil? And, were the brake valves and piston serviced, or just a "set & release & leakage test" done?Nice cars, a real good catch!! Get the planer and jointer ready for the vinegar car lumber-making....

Actually it was this morning. B745 first worked Lansdale Warehouse on the Doylestown Branch while a number of NHIRR employees were making one last check on the cars. CSX 8855 and CSX 6211 came back to the yard light, they cut 6211 off on the Bethlehem Industrial Track, coupled 8855 to the CSX box car they were using as a spacer, pulled them out of the layoff track, recoupled to 6211 and at 01:20 they departed push/pull heading south to Glenside and the Warminster Branch. Think I heard them say max speed was 15 MPH. Just after they left it started to rain, good timing.Everything must have went well on the other end as the engines are back in Lansdale today.
