Hi allBelieve it or not the 18 miles of track that the BC&G ran on is still there. A lot of the ties afre rotted away in places but other places are in pretty good shape. It is way back in the West Virginia Mountains though and a bit hard to find now unless you know where to look. Dundon and Widen are just spevks on a map. A friend of mine and I walked about 6 miles of the track one afternoon. It is a beautiful place to visit. It is nice to know that the old BC&G #4 has ben kept in good shape at the North Carolina Transportation Museum as the #604.Andrew

Yes, BC&G "A" is now at the Strasburg Railroad. And don't forget the #13 is alive and well, operating on the Ohio Central Railroad. The #14, while not operational, is preserved at a Maryland Commuter station.

Neither 4 nor 13 have operated in several years. The 4 is out of service and disassembled for boiler work. Everywhere they looked at the boiler more work was needed. Currently the boiler is off site in a private shop while Spencer looks for more money and explores their options. I seem to recall seeing photos of the 13 repainted for display at the OC steam fest last year. It may have been in BC&G colors again but I am not 100% sure of that.John Bohon

Yes, 13 was (and still is) repainted back into her BC&G livery. And, unfortunately, she has not been under steam for several years now.

Hi All,I do understand that the 604 is in storage wating an additional $300,000 for the needed repairs to get it back to operational status. The NCTM is working on their Backshop now and it is coming along very well.Hopefully we will see the 604 back in operations one of these days soon. Andrew

Actually, I believe the railbus is on display at the RR Museum. They acquired it in a trade a few years ago.JAC

Railbus A, a Mack Model AC of 1920 with body by Brill, was built for the Lewisburg Milton & Watsontown Passenger Railway in central Pennsylvania. It operated between Montandon and Mifflinburg, replacing a battery car, until the LM&WP went out of business in 1928. It was then acquired by the Pennsylvania RR and was sold to a shortline in Tennessee or Kentucky, which sold it to the BC&G. At some point, the BC&G replaced the Mack engine with a Chevy 292 6-cylinder. Eventually, it is hoped, the RRMPa will restore it to its LM&WP livery.
