Mr. Preston Cook will be presenting his program Inside EMD at the Palmer (MA) Public Library on Thursday, November 17th, at 6:00PM. The program is free and open to the public. While having your meal you can also watch for the trains of CSX, New England Central, MassCentral and Amtrak.

dcm74, Thanks for your posting of this event, and thanks also to you and the 100+ other folks who showed up for the presentation of WHAT'S IN THOSE COVERED WAGONS at the Amherst Railway Society meeting Tuesday night!The showing of INSIDE EMD tonight (November 17) at the Public Library in Palmer Massachusetts is presently the last showing scheduled for this program in 2005 that is open to the public. No showings of the program have been scheduled in 2006 as we will not be traveling so much next year and the local groups in this area have all seen the program. The INSIDE EMD program has a very active role outside railfan circles with showings to EMD retirees, and to corporate and academic audiences, but these events are generally not open to the public.I will be showing WHAT'S IN THOSE COVERED WAGONS, DIESEL RAILROAD TUGS, and EMD DEMONSTRATORS AND DISPLAYS to a number of railroad enthusiast groups in the Northeast during 2006.

My thanks to the many railroad enthusiasts and industry folks who showed up last night for the showing of INSIDE EMD at the Palmer Library. This was an excellent turnout for an event that we put together on fairly short notice. The staff at the library were very pleased with the large turnout, they plan on continuing their program of railroad speakers in the future.Those who attended got a look at this wonderful new library, which is decorated in railroad themes and has a railroad research room and a superb public meeting room. We made good use of the meeting room last night, it is brand new and very comfortable, with good lighting, nice seating and an excellent screen. Hopefully they will be able to hold many more events at this location in the future.The train watching at the Palmer Station is excellent too. Anyone visiting Palmer should drop by the Steaming Tender restaurant in the station, the waiting room was recently refurbished and the food there is very good!PC
