Thanks for posting that photo, Stephen. I got the "new" version of that photo in an email from a friend and thought it was kind of fishy, too! This 1895 photo was used as the cover photo for the "hair" rock band Mr. Big in the early 1990's on their album "Lean Into It". I thought the name was pretty appropriate! ;^)The staged photo reminds me of the old Hard Rock Cafe down in Orlando, FL. Their building used to be the shape of a guitar, with the "neck" a walkway that went over the main driveway and led to a parking lot on the other side. The "bottom" of the guitar was a half of an old black Cadillac convertible sticking out of the building about a story up! It was a really neat building, but from what I was told when I went there a couple of years ago, they completely tore it down to make the new Universal Riverwalk, which is pretty huge! When they did that, they built a new Hard Rock Cafe, and I didn't notice the Caddy on the new building. :^(So keeping with the preservation aspect of this board... if, Heaven forbid, an operation has a caboose or locomotive that is no longer feasible to run due to accident at one end or whatever, one could conceivably slice it in half (yeah, I know... easier said than done), and stick it to the side of a building which could be the start of a themed restaurant or conversation piece to a hobby shop or the like. Beats scrapping it outright!Think about the restaurant/bar in Anna, OH just off I-75 that has the half-a-car sticking out the side of it's building... nobody remembers the name, but everyone knows which bar!!

So apparently, it is a real locomotive, not a fake movie prop. And hopefully they did not cut off the front end. The whole idea, while eye-catching to tourists, is pretty much against my concept of preservation, sort of like the Kriegslok in Germany turned upside down as a piece of art.
