The IC ran some good looking trains late in the passenger train game, like this one in 1967. I know some IC equipment still exists here and there, including, I think, even an E9 B unit. At least two IC E8A's survive in private ownership and kinda-sorta-operable condition at Minerva, Ohio, last used in MARC service in the early 1990s. I'm an acquaintance of the owner (or one of them), and I'm assurred that the relevant parties re: this idea are all aware of each other's existence. One of these days (or decades)............

I don't think much of the equipment that ran on these later-day IC streamliners survived. IC is one of the railroads that Amtrak purchased basically no equipment from.The museum in Monticello, IL does have a lot of very nice IC equipment, but I think most of it predates the streamliner era - you could re-create a train like the Land O'Corn, but not the 1960s City of New Orleans from it.From the IC streamliners, there is only one car I can think of still in operation: the obs car currently owned by the Roanoke Chapter NRHS, now called the Mardi Gras (I think). Most of the NP domes that ran part of the year (and later full time) on the IC trains do survive.Chris J.

Hi,If someone had the time and money, the cars are out there to put together a section of the Panama Limited or just to make a respectable IC Streamlined passenger train. Quite a bit of the IC's passenger equipment ended it's last days in MOW service. So, these cars have been scattered over the system and many have found there way to other uses.Stuart
