Unfortunately, the ISP provider which I use to upload changes to the site has several "ports" blocked and this has made things difficult, but it's all being fixed in January. Our Gift Store has been reworked and is now open, so we are making progress. As for the restoration photos, the photos will all have new, more accessible galleries, with more photos than before...I hope this clears things up. The past webmasters and I have all sort of learned by doing, so there's a lot of dead wood yet to be cleaned out.

Correct!

The 765 appeared in John Sayle's Matewan in 1987, sans road name and number on the cab, and had a brief cameo in Arthur Penn's Four Friends in 1981 in which she was briefly (if not playfully) relettered as "New York Central." The engine never moves in Four Friends, but she is in the first shot of the film. The locomotive has a few dramatic moments in Matewan, one of which is a classic runover shot.

The locomotive was to appear in another film about the Pullman strike with Harrison Ford around this same time (using various other locomotives, like a Reading T-1 and NKP 587) but the project was shelved.

The History Channel has recently expressed some interest in using the 765, so maybe we'll see the engine elsewhere in "Hollywoodland" in the future.

You’re talking about Paramount’s 1991 failed epic, “Night ride down,” right? A buddy of mine spent a lot of time working on that project. After a lot of work that went nowhere, he actually left the industry for good over the issue. I’m going to have to see Matewan again sometime, as I do not recall a steam engine even in the film. But it has been years since I have seen it.
