The only one still at five-foot gauge, last year at Paterson, New Jersey. Looks like the whole back end fell off the tender:

Actually it looks like some slapdash repairs to the buffer beam fell off, and that the same might happen to the fake tank sides. But more to the point, does anyone know what's up with the industrial museum that was established in the old Paterson Locomotive Works?

We stopped to see this site a few years ago, and drive by it every time we come home from the in-laws in New Jersey. One of these times I'll risk family protest and actually stop again ("You want to stop in PATERSON?" This from someone who grew up in Passaic.) But the last time I found the museum closed, even though it looked like it had been the recipient of major bucks in the seventies. It looked like the typical civic project that hustled grants for capital expenditure but couldn't make a go of the museum part of the job. There was a volunteer tourist-bureau office operating near the falls, marking one of the sites of the origins of all of North American industry.

And who remembers how this locomotive came back north with anti-Jimmy Carter posters attached by U.S. Canal Zone employees, protesting the selling off of the Panama Canal?
